Device Settings

To open the web administration, enter http://<hostname>/webadmin in the web browser (where hostname corresponds to the server on which Kyocera Control WebAdmin was installed). . If you are not already logged in, log in with a user that has administrator rights (login and password) or as the Kyocera Control system administrator (administrator with password admin by default).

In the menu in the Web Administration, click Devices > Device Settings.

You can replace the Kyocera Control logo on the device with another image. This is then displayed on the device on the login screen instead of the Kyocera Control logo, see Login on the Device.

To use a different logo on the device, click Upload logo and select an image file:

• Type: JPG or PNG

• Size: 132x60 pixels (larger images will be scaled to 132 pixels in width and cropped at 132 pixels in height)

The uploaded logo will be displayed immediately. To remove the user-defined logo, click Remove logo. The Kyocera Control logo will then be displayed again.

After you save the changes, send Device Configuration to the device to display the logo on the device:

Open Device List

In the web administration, click Devices > Device List in the menu. The list appears showing all devices that have already been added to the system manually or via the device search (see also Device List).

Configure Embedded Client

Select one or more devices with the checkbox at the beginning of the line. Then click the Configure Devices drop-down list and select Configure Device For Kyocera Control. Once the process has been successfully completed and the list view has been reloaded with the Refresh button , the device is marked with a green dot.

The Restart Devices function in the Configure Devices drop-down list cannot be used for Toshiba devices.

With some manufacturers, installation of the client and automatic configuration of the device is not possible when a user is logged in to the device.

Some device manufacturers (Epson, HP and Toshiba) require use of a device password for Kyocera Control to access the device. Specify the administrator password of the device in the Device Password area under Devices Administrator Password. The password must be the same for all devices used.

In the Service Password area, you can define any password under New Password For Maintenance Access with which the device can be unlocked for maintenance purposes (see also Unlock Device With Service Password). When saved, the password is immediately transmitted to all accessible devices and entered in the password list.

Under Show Password List you can open the password list with the Show button (Caution: The list shows all passwords in plaintext). In the table, under Date, you will find the timestamp for when the password was assigned. This timestamp is displayed on the device. If the current password could not be transmitted to a device, the timestamp of the last password transmission is still displayed on this device. The device can therefore be unlocked with an older password (that of the displayed timestamp).

By default, users can set any devices as direct printers using the WebClient. If, for example, you want only printers and no corridor devices to be selected as direct printers, activate the option Restrict Direct Printer Selection and assign any keyword at this point (e.g. SelectableAsDirectPrinter). Assign the same keyword to the devices that should be selectable as direct printers (see Device List). Now (only after a new login in the WebClient), only those devices that have this keyword are selectable as direct printer favorites.

Enter the desired duration for an automatic user logout from the device in the Automatic logout after inactivity on the device in seconds field. The specified time (seconds) starts after the last press of a button on the device display or of a hardware key. The user will be logged out from the device after the time has expired.

With the setting 0 seconds, no automatic logout takes place.

Device timers can precede the value specified here and cause a logout (manufacturer-dependent).

The device is set to standby after the number of seconds in the Set device to standby after inactivity (seconds) field have elapsed. The user will then be logged out automatically.

With the setting 0 seconds, no automatic standby takes place. However, users always have the option to manually put the device into standby using the button on the device.

Not available for all supported device manufacturers.

Allow copying if connection to server is lost: Enable this option if you want copying to be allowed if the connection between the device and the server is interrupted. A button will then appear which can be used to enable the device for copying (other functions might not be available).

If you want the user's personal pin code to be requested for this, activate the Pin Code Required option.

When a malfunction occurs on a device, print jobs can be automatically deleted from the machine's memory and print jobs can be canceled to prevent someone else from receiving the print jobs (such as the person who removes a paper jam that has occurred).

• Log user out: The logged in user is automatically logged out if there is a device fault.
• Cancel active jobs: All active print jobs that are already in the memory of the device are automatically canceled if there is a device malfunction.

• Execute selected action(s) after minutes: The above action(s) (if active) will not be executed immediately after the device failure is detected by the system, but after the number of minutes set in this field (e.g. 5 means that the device failure must last 5 minutes before a user is logged out and/or the print jobs are deleted).

The function is not available for all supported device manufacturers and model series.
